This special session is part of the inaugural AMS Mathematics Research Communities program. This program seeks to develop and sustain long-lasting cohorts for collaborative research in various areas of mathematics. Our particular program involved 20 young mathematicians and focused on the Boij-Soderberg conjectures and numerical primary decomposition. Although these topics would be of interest to many attendees of this special session, we are interested in having broad representation within computational algebraic geometry and welcome any topics within or near that field.
